Hey all!

New to the forum. I have already found plenty of useful info.

My question to the masses is based on the 2.0T vs. the 3.2.

Living between Ottawa and Toronto, would you recommend the quattro? How well have you all managed without it?

What about the OpenSky system? Worth the $$? I know it certainly looks amazing.

Furthermore, I'm also looking to the states for the purchase, as I simply can't justify the CDN prices up here. I know the issue has been dealt with elsewhere, but again, any tips that you feel are VITAL would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

I personally think that the price difference does not justify the investment on the Quattro. Additionally the mileage is less than stellar on the Quattro (I am not too happy about the mileage of the 2.0 in these times of $1.5/l either).

My 2.0 drives pretty well in the snow with a decent set of winter tires (Bridgestone Blizzak I think)

Maybe I am just cheap

I have a 2.0T no quatto in Ottawa. I haven't tried a winter with it yet but we'll see. I have a DSG as well so not sure what to expect but I will be investing in some winter rims and tires.

I also imported my 2006 A3 and saved a ton of money. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I know the process pretty well now.

Visit Registrar of Imported Vehicles RIV: How to import a U.S made vehicle into Canada for more info on importing.

I will miss my Q from the A4 but I won't drive an auto or DSG car... If you don't care, might as well get the Q although its 300-500lbs of weight
