Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
I will be getting an A3 in December. Is the $700 3 yr maintenance package worth it? Do you have any idea what it covers as well? Any weblinks would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
Well considering you get a few oil changes for free and they're $140 each. I think you get 3 of them so that will be $420 plus all the other services they offer. It's something to think about.

Lady told me it was worth 1300$ even though my jedi sense feels very strong bullshit here...but it looks like it is worth at least that. Btw the dealer in Montreal told me it was 750$...you got it for 700? |

Is it worth it?
Depends on how much mileage you expect for the period you have the car. The services covered are (must be performed within 5yrs of in-service date) 25,000km 40,000km 55,000km 70,000km I believe the plan pays for itself at the 55,000km service. Therefore, my advice would be: < 55,000km = Don't take it, pay for the servicing > 55,000km = Buy the Audi Care The MSRP of Audi Care is $750 |
Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
25,000KM 40,000KM 55,000KM 70,000KM SPECIAL TOTAL
A3 2.0T Manual $260.00 $160.00 $260.00 $160.00 $840.00 A3 2.0T S-Tronic $260.00 $160.00 $260.00 $160.00 $425.00 $1,265.00 DSG oil & filter A3 3.2 $270.00 $160.00 $460.00 $160.00 $160.00 $1,210.00 The above is a table of the costs associated with the A3 maintenance schedule. You would save about $140 with the A3 2.0T if you keep it past 70,0000 km. You can have the cost of the package built into your payments if you purchased the vehicle. |
Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
if you do all your service at the dealer it is cost effective

Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
^Yeah what he/she said. If you were looking at the included services at what Audi dealers charge for them then yeah it works out.
However the reg prices for service are waaay out there. I mean if you did these services anywhere else (including your own driveway) you would be well under the price of even the package. I mean $120+ oil change? ROFL. Though I'd love to support the cocaine habit of Audi dealers, I think I'd use my money elsewhere thanks. |
Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
I didn't see it mentioned yet, but you also have up to a year or 20K kms to buy Audi Care after you purchase or lease your car. It makes sense to roll it into a payment if you have one, but if you decided against it at signing and then changed your mind later, you can still get it for the current price.

Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
Dont forget though that the package only includes "scheduled" maintenance. Most people do oil changes in between which will be at your own cost.

Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
i'm at around 49,000km, and just thinking ahead to my 55,000km service, is this something i can get done at other shops cheaper? i noticed the scheduled prices have this upcoming one at $260.. are there other costs in addition that i should be expecting?
i also noticed my service booklet with no "official" stamps on the scheduled services.. bought it at 38,000km from a used dealer, should i be heading in like asap to get my scheduled servicing? thanks in advance |
Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
I had looked into getting a warranty for my Audi a3 but didn't get it cause the prices were pretty high but i would suggest you go to the person in the Audi dealer who offers the warranty and he or she can give you a detailed pamphlet that has everything it covers and if you think you may need it then you should get it. It does cover a lot but it depends if you need it. my car was an American car brought into Canada so i cant get the warranty from Audi, they offered me a warranty that they give through another company which is the same as the Audi one and it was priced to me around $2 000. So what i did was found a good garage in Toronto area. also check the forums some people gave some good ratings on some good garages to take your Audi to. hope that helps you a bit pdizzo.

Re: Is the Audi Maintenance Package Worth it?
The Audi Care package is worth getting and covers all the scheduled maintenance that is in your booklet.
It is discounted compared to the cost of doing each service at the dealership and paying separately and more than that, one can build it in the monthly payment and instead of paying 150-250 out of your pocket when time comes, you just pay 20 more dollars each month on your car payment. For CPO vehicles is a must as for the A4 covers the 115k service when the timing belt gets changed and only that service pays for the whole thing. |
