It maybe be turned off. If you have the full featured centre display where it shows; kms till empty, avg fuel consumption, etc. There should be a button on the bottom of the wiper stock that you push and cycle through all the options in the display. One should turn it on.

Good luck!

thanks matey!..had a quick wizz this morning and there isn't any button on the wiper stock. Its the proper cluster that displays MPG, Consumption and so fourth. When i switch the vehicle on it works fine it displays pefectly clear vehicle stationary press foot brake to change gear (along the lines lol)..What else can it be!? doesn't seem to be broken or the ribbon has moved?!..:neutral:

MFD = Multi Function Display

Not uncommon with Audi models. You could have either Bosch, VDO or Magneti Marelli in the Euro market. There is no repair for the general public. That would require a college level electronics degree to test, service and repair the LCD and or LCD drivers. The MCU = Micro Control Unit is suspect in the condition you describe along with cold soldering joints.

A company named BBA Reman comes to mind. They're the experts in that field.
