Call Independent tuning (in Toronto).. amazing shop, amazing people, honest and skilled. 416 285 4206. Mark will give you a quote.

Also,, if your car has upward of 80000 kms, you might want to look at having the intake valves cleaned ( I just did mine, made a huge difference,, resotred the original power and the stumble is gone) , replace the highpressure fuel pump piston cap (they wear out then break throuch.. 60$ now saves you 1800 later),

Thanks for the advice , I will have to get that done as well. I am at 124k right now when do you think I should take care of the timing belt and water pump ?

Re: 2006 A3 Fw drive

mines a 2006 also.. at 124k,, you're well over due for the timing belt. as for the water pump,, i don't know, but of course its cheaper to do it all at once.

Second on IT, you won't be dissapointed.

AoM said 168k for a timing belt? I'd like to know who said that.

Can you gimme an estimate as to how much this would cost, and length of time? I just purchased the fuel pump cam follower and definitely want to replace mine. I'm currently at 103000 km. I want to have my intake valves cleaned asap...

Thanks..

I am really confused on this whole timing belt thing?

Re: 2006 A3 Fw drive

its pretty simple, most car dealerships and manuals will tell you 150 and it would seem that the numbers that are being thrown around are all around 150.

I am about to do my old car which is a civic at 300 still running on the original belt but i would not recommend waiting that long lol

Cheers
