S4 battery dying while even driving

Hey guys so i was driving home probably like 25-30 miles to home and my battery started dying on me, so i tryed next day same thing, ok i took off alternator [pay in ass] went to check if it is good, autozone said it was good, ok my radiotor fan which is inside right hand has really bad bearings and when it turns makes noise, so could it be because of that? i mean maybe it can't really turn good and eats all my power..
today that fan stopped turning at all

i don't know, but what do you think guys??

thanks

The bad fan bearing is not the cause of your electrical issues; but fix it nonetheless!

A quick and easy diagnosis is to check the fuses/links/relays, but you should use a multimeter (at the very least) to track down electrical issues. In a few seconds, you'll be able to check the output of the alternator, check what voltage the battery is at and whether or not it is holding it properly, etc. This will allow you to isolate the problem to a specific component, and perform further diagnosis accordingly.

That said, here is what I would check:

- battery and alternator voltages
- fusible links, fuses, relays
- all of the grounding points on the vehicle
- use multimeter to check for voltage drains while key is off

I posted this exact post on another site where someone was having the exact same issue, and it was a grounding point causing the problem.

Check the battery if you dont want to check anything else first. Bad battery kills alternator, bad alternator kills battery.
