Hey guys, any idea what the smallest size rim would be for the Q5. I have 17" winters for my A3 and was thinking about using them on my Q5. Is that to small? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Audi offers a 17" winter wheel package for the Q5 so most 17" wheels will work as long as they clear the front brakes and suspension.

The issue you are likely going to run into with your A3 wheels is the high offset. The Audi OEM offset for the 17" A3 wheels is 7.5x17" ET 56 which means the wheels will sit in an extra 23mm, almost an inch from where the OEM Q5 wheels would sit. They will also have about 11mm less clearance inside the rim.

If you already have rubber on those A3 rims, I'd sell the set and buy something specific to your Q5. In my opinion 17" wheels are going to look too small for the Q5 anyhow. (If you care about that sort of thing.)

Hi Tony,

My 2011 Q5 3.2 Premium is scheduled to be in my garage the first week of September. I purchased winter wheels and tires at Tire Rack as well and they should arrive just after the Q. The tire racks that you have in your garage look great and I would love to get something similar. Can you please share some details. Hopefully I can get them here in Ottawa.

Thanks.....Brian

Thanks for the insight. I agree 17's won't look right. I guess my search begins for some winter rim and tire pkgs.

I need some advice. Does anyone know if the following wheel would fit on the Q5 ?

Audi 18 Inch Wheels Rims and Tires - - AUDI WHEELS 18 INCH SILVER RIMS (AUD-300-18-SLV)

Bolt Pattern: 5x112
Offset: Many offsets available to fit any vehicle
Center Bore: 57.1

Consider getting a quote from Tirerack.com as well. They include customs and have lots of options.
