Speedway Audi in Victoria

Re: Speedway Audi in Victoria
I find that Speedway Motors has great service. They helped me with my radio code when I first purchased my A4, and the technicians were helpful when I asked them a few questions regarding the A4 so I can do most of the work myself.
Because most parts are made in Germany for Audis, the parts are bound to be expensive. Quality over Quantity. One thing I was not happy about though, was when I purchased three screw for the bottom front plastic shield/oil pan, it cost me about $35 plus tax.
The salesmen, just like every other car salesmen are pushy, but not too pushy since they're selling higher class vehicles in comparison to Toyota, GM, etc.
If you're capable and have the knowledge to do it yourself, do it. It has saved me quite a bit of money.

Re: Speedway Audi in Victoria
I recently had my annual service done on the A4 and they gave me a loaner Porsche Cayman. Kind of fun, but even better, I like the ride, handling and comfort of the A4 WAY better than the Porsche.... Service was great from Speedway BTW, Audi is making big strides in customer relations and vehicle sales. Good work!
I'll echo this, they gave me that silver Cayman S too - my B8 S4 feels quicker by far, is waaaay more comfortable, and the transmission (DSG) shifts faster than the PDK. Love how the Porsche sounds though.
Have my car in there for a service now, and this time received an Ibis A4 Avant. Now THIS is a dream car! Love the wagon!!!! Sure wish they'd sell the Avant S4 here.
Thanks again Stacy for the great loaners and great service!

Re: Speedway Audi in Victoria
I had my first service at Speedway on April 15th and it had to stay overnight as they also did a recall. My car wouldn't be ready for me that evening as they wanted to run it for a while to get it up to temp. I got the Cayman as well - it must be their go to car for loaners. It's seems pretty crude relative to the S4.
The service was the best I've had in my 36 years of driving. When I got my car back it was washed, vacuumed, and even the tires were dressed.

Re: Speedway Audi in Victoria
The Cayman is usually for Porsche owners, but they do dole it out when the Audis are in use. I agree too that the only thing better about the P-car over the S4 is the sound - other than that, I was so happy to be back in the Audi.
Been in 3 times now for servicing and they're still the best I've ever had too.
Mike, were you at Speedway on May 10th? There was a QG there with 19" peelers. I think there's only 5 in Victoria - kailuaboy's sprint blue, a black one I've seen a few times driven by a blonde lady, and two quartz ones (ours). Not sure if they still have that Ice Silver one on the lot.....

The Ice Silver is the one that they originally ordered for me by mistake. It isn't on the lot and I don't think they have it any more. I ordered the grey but about a month later I went in to check on how it was coming along and I noticed my order said Ice Silver. I told them I didn't want it if it came in that colour so they scrambled and got me the proper configuration. I almost chose the quartz - it was a toss up between the two and I chose the darker colour. I also got the spectral silver seats to lighten up the interior. I'm glad I did - it adds a bit of distinction, I think.
Why have you had 3 services in a year? I put on my winter tires and my first service, but I don't think of seasonal tire changes as servicing.

Re: Speedway Audi in Victoria
Ahhh, nice - love the Meteor! Didn't know there was one in Vic. Nice work on the spectral silver too, stunning.
3 services in 6 months actually.
The first was to test-fit the wheels I bought (perfect fit, almost flush to the fender giving it a really wide, mean stance) as I was worried about clearance from the suspension (5mm front, 8mm+ rear). Wanted to get photos and measurements of the clearance too for the AZ and AW lads with the car up on the lift.
The second was to check for the sport-diff leak that the 2011s seem to have - I had it, they fixed it.
The third was this week to get the T-stat replaced as per the TSB. Was hoping to get pics of the valves when they had the s/c off, but I forgot my camera and when I got back it was too late. Just trying to help put the carbon buildup issue to rest with the B8, as it seems from a few other photos I've seen, we won't have any issues.
PS: Glad you don't own that Quartz - I was gonna give you ***** for having the dirtiest S4 I've ever seen

Where did you first hear about the sport-diff issue and are there other things to be concerned with? The other day my FM station list went blank. Presets were there, Satellite Radio and AM were there but the FM station list wouldn't show up. I couldn't change channels in FM but could switch modes. When I got back in my car a few hours later it was fine. Have you ever had any problems?
My car is rarely dirty. I've been accused upon occasion of spending more time and money on my vehicles than on the women in my life! But hey, it's got to be done so I'll take the heat.

I didn't know about the sport-diff leak. I'll have to get mine checked for that before I head out this fall. At this point I think we may drive to Las Vegas in September and maybe catch one day of the Barrett Jackson auction.

Heheh, my wife would occasionally agree
Hmmm, I've heard of the FM channels being tinny at times on a few cars, but nothing about channel lists disappearing. I've never had any problems with it.
I know where you might be able to find the answers though.
PM sent about that, and the sport diff leak link sent as well
