Default Issues with Kelowna Audi dealership?

Has anyone here had any issues with the Kelowna dealership?

So, my hubby took our Audi in to the Kelowna Audi dealership last Sunday to get a wheel alignment and the computer reset. While it was in there, he thought he might as well get a brake flush done. He paid the bill and when taking the hour drive home, the clutch started to slip horribly. We never had a single problem with the clutch slipping before it was taken in to the dealership! So he drove it back to the dealership and told them what was going on. Of course the mechanics said there is nothing they can do, as we can't prove it wasn't slipping before we brought it in. My husband told them, there is no way he would drive an hour to get the car serviced if the clutch was slipping horribly. He told them he takes good care of our vehicles and he brought it THERE because he trusted them. He could have just taken to any one in town. So, now it's our word against there's of course. We are beyond mad. My husband talked to 2 dealerships in Vancouver, who told them the same thing. When flushing out the brakes, they could have over pressurized something and the slave cylinder could be blown, causing the clutch to slip. I know that is horribly worded. I am a girl, forgive me. lol We also learned from another mechanic that if they got any brake fluid on the clutch, it would also cause it to start to slip. On Audiforum.com, they also mentioned that possibly the guy who did the "test drive" after, drove it like an *** and broke the clutch! So, it's pretty obvious they broke our clutch but they will NOT agree they did. The sales manager called us today and said that they will not take any responsibility. He said they put a boroscope in and seen that everything was dry. I am beyond mad. What would you all do? I already called Audi Canada and need to call her back again. Oh and they wouldn't even give him a service car to make the hour trip home!

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with this dealership breaking their car, while "fixing" something else!

What year and model is your car? Have you kept a detailed service history on the car? What I am getting at is this. You have a detailed service history which shows that regular and meticulous maintenance was carried out by you, you do not have a history of trying to scam or rip off the dealership, it is proven that a brake flush could have caused the problem. All of this is evidence for a case against the dealership. Don't let the dealership bully you. Their philosophy is that you can't prove it was them..... well I would ask if they can prove that it wasn't them.

You need to get in touch with a lawyer and pay the $100 or so for him to write up a threatening letter and see how the dealership responds. However, be prepared to follow through if its not the response you are expecting. That could mean going to small claims court and this is something you can do yourself. Often it never gets to the court room but settlements are made prior. It is important that the dealership knows you are serious and they will know this by the above actions.

Just a thought but have you contacted Audi Canada? I doubt they will get involved or do anything but its worth a try.

Good luck and let us know what happens?

Good luck and let us know what happens? I will for sure. Thanks!

You might let the dealership know you have advised this forum of the issue. I'm in Edmonton and travel through the OK quite often. I won't be going to that dealership for any reason.

Interesting, anyone know of a good Audi guy in the OK?

I am surprised the sales manager said that they put a boroscope in, and that it was dry. Did he put that in writing? I would have thought the car would be undriveable if the transmission was out of fluid. In fact, I would think the clutch plates would lock rather than slip, preventing shifts (my 86 Coupe blew its master and the car was stuck in first, no diengaging it at ALL until I got it replaced). The sales manager's comments sound kind of fishy to me.

If you call them again, and he repeats that line, tell him you need it in writing. In the meantime, make sure you are recording the call.

I don't know any mechanics up that way, but I will speak to my mechanic here in Vancouver, and see if he knows a good independent up your way who can inspect your car for you.
