Feedback on Calgary shop - "Two Square"

Re: Feedback on Calgary shop - "Two Square"
Hello just a 2005 Audi A4 1.8 turbo beautiful car and my first Audi.
I am just wondering where the best place would be for an oil and air filter change?
Is it safe to go to Midas or one of the quick lube places or should I take to a Audi specialist or dealer? My last car was a piece of crap so I never worried about it.
Any feedback would be great. Thanks

Re: Feedback on Calgary shop - "Two Square"
I took my VW in here (to test before I would take my Audi), it ran great, but had an engine light triggered. Long story short is they did a good job but were VERY VERY VERY expensive. Lets just say I spent close to $1000 to have it diagnosed a belt and thermo replaced.
They originally charged me $160 to run the code.... I just moved back from the US where I was going to Beach House Imports and paying $49 AND if was something major, they would just wave the charge assuming I got the work done there.
Hourly rates were $160, which I find hard to swallow for basic mechanical work. They were nice, and did a good job, but had my car for close to a week and just felt they charged too much. Although, they do offer credits towards future work and road side assistance.
Just my one experience there. I think I'll shop around a bit on where to take the A4.

At 160/hr, I would be at the stealership. That is absolutely ridiculous. My experience says take it to George at Tunedub or Lawrence at Calgary Autoworks. I try to do most of my own work, but when I just can't do it without a hoist, it goes to either of these shops.

The dealership rate is $135.
As I stated before - 2Square introduced a "floating rate" - the customer is charged based on the circumstances .....
Looks like their business model works well on a "certain group of users".
(I've got a timing belt quote without specifying the engine model => wizards, indeed)
For 2.7T needs - Jordan is your guy

Re: Feedback on Calgary shop - "Two Square"
I took my Audi to Two Square a couple of times. Never again. I stopped going to Glenmore Audi because of their over charging and sloppy job. Two Square wasn't much better. They caused oil to leak all over my garage. Now I only take my Audi to Tunedub. I've taken another car (a Mercedes) to Mid Town as well and they did a good job.

TuneDub - Word ! <- the waiting list isnt that long they work fast !
My 05 TT's clutch started to Slip, i aint got no garage either its booked into TubeDub. I cant wait its been garaged for a few weeks now till i could afford it. However Tune dub is always my first choice.
However my father is the kinda guy who likes a bargain, so he decided he was gonna call around and get price quotes for me cause he's like that. Soo.......After i made him promise not to get quotes from mechanics who don't know audi's i let him do it.
After a few days he came to me looking rather disgusted and said i quit ! Then he gave me that look hes given me for 30 years and said your $#%&ed.
Some quotes he got
Dealerships : Theres only 2 of them in calgary. They are the typical install oem parts at oem prices and put on by most likely good audi trained mechanics for an oem price.
Midtown : They wouldent do it at all, unless they got the clutch and sold it back to me on the bill. No deal I pick the clutch
German Car Spec/2Square <-- This is why pops quit
They gave him 2 quotes
1) Clutch with no flywheel + labor = 2400+ Dollars
2) Clutch with flywheel "Dual Mass" + labor = 5200+ Dollars
These quotes made dad turn green and right then and there he got out of the game.
Good thing too, i hear heart attacks suck !
My opinions -
1) Tunedub
2) Concept One
3) Calgary Autoworks
4) BushMaster
5) Dealerships
