Cardel "Ride of a Lifetime" - Race City / Calgary - Oct 2/10
My friend does this every year, figure the locals might be interested here.
* THE FERRARI CHALLENGE CAR IS BOOKED... So I had to take the 1st spot in the Scuderia...

So I just finished putting together the site for the 4th annual Cardel Ride of a Lifetime.
It's normally an event that gives both underprivileged kids and sick kids the opportunity to ride shotgun in some of Calgary's hottest cars. This year there'll be a Ferrari Challenge car out there as well. I guarantee you haven't braked as hard as this thing can going into turn 1.
This year we're still doing the charity event in the morning but to add to it, we've expanded this year to include afternoon lapping sessions. You can get to ride in the passenger seat of a number of really quick cars out there for a pretty reasonable small donation that you can make through paypal. The slots are probably going to fill up quick for the exotics.
The Reel Rydes crew have also donated their time and will be out there this year filming some in-car video and fly-bys and all kinds of stuff to help us with a promo video next year and to capture some of these kids having a great time.
Anyhow, read all about it here, see some video and some pics from previous years. More importantly, think about coming out and having some fun and supporting some kids in the process.

I actually booked 2 seats... 1 for me in the Scuderia, and 1 for the g/f in the Countach...
She loves Lambos (what girl doesn't), but the old Countach is her favorite... So I had to get her a ride in one, atleast...

Her Lambo actually had an early day, after some kid puked in it after a couple hot-laps...
So she got to do 15min in a V10 R8 6spd...
Here was the car I rode in... It was STUPID fast, and there's still no feeling like being propelled by a rear/mid-engined car...
Let alone a Scuderia...
It was a good time, but we left a little bit disappointed.
I got shorted about 10min on my 20min ride-time, she got shorted about 5...
But it was for Charity, so...

Thanx for the kind words, but it wan't really an "adventure". More so a true experience of the cars I see every day, not just a ride in traffic.
The driver was going to see what he could do (he was actually the 1st to mention that my session was way short), but I didn't push the issue.
It's just another Ferrari after all, when the Saleen S7, T/T Gallardo, or the FXX-powered Enzo come to the track I will definately raise a stink about any shorted ride-time...
