Only two months left till the Poker Run. Registration cut off will be August 10th. I need to confirm the food count and get the numbers off to the event sponsors and checkpoints. Registration has slowed down a bit. If you have even been thinking of attending this event, go up and register now. Help me to help the kids, and have a great day in the meantime. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

If you can't make the Poker Run for whatever reason, and just want to meet us up on the Mountain for dinner, that is perfectly fine, just let me know. If your hesitating because of the costs, let me know and perhaps we can work something out. Participation is important to the event.

Don't forget that there is a pre-event meet, on the Friday, August 16th. That meet will be at the starting point of the Poker Run. We will get together and I can give out any instructions, collect some payments, and be around for any questions. We normally go for a short cruise and get some dinner/appies. Let me know if you intend to make it out to the pre-event meet. If you cannot attend the Poker Run, feel free to come to the pre-event meet.

I continue to work on getting some really nice raffle items and I think once again this year, you will be surprised at the number and the quality of items. Lastly, remember that I will not be supplying maps this year. You can print out the ones that I posted previously in this thread, or bring your GPS, or both. If you have issues printing off the maps, let me know.

These items are all put onto a table and during the evening you have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets in the amounts of $5.00, $10.00, and $25.00. Each item has a bucket in front of it with a description of the item, and information about the donator, as well as the amount of ticket that will win that item. So say you are wanting the BlackVue camera, I might put a ticket value of $25.00 on that item. You put a $25.00 ticket into the bucket. During the evening we will draw from each bucket and the winner wins the item. So you won't pay anymore than $25.00 for ANY donated item. All proceeds go directly to Camp Shawnigan.

Well only 5 weeks left. All the logistics are in place. I am still recieving some great sponsor items and response, has once again, been fantastic. Registrations continue to come in which is great. We are currently at 36 cars, but I am hoping to hit the 50 car mark this year. Only you can help me get there. Keep in mind that this is one excellent charity and the event itself is a whole lot of fun. For example, over 75% of the participants are repeat participants with 35% having attended all 4 Poker runs, and 40% having attended at least 2 poker runs in the past.

Some of the newly donated items include:
- Ski Package for 2 at Mt Washington Resort, includes 4 ski passes, and mid week accomodations for two nights at Mt Washington resort.
- Gift certificate from the Keg Restaurants.
- Full auto detail from Discovery Honda.
- various participation swag and door prizes.

Anyone that is thinking of bringing passengers that are under the age of 12 the price is $20.00 which covers their meals. We do have a few kids under 12 that will be attending this year. No they are not driving...,

Those of you that have registered but not confirmed, please do so if you can. I am not a concerned about people paying as I am about getting some firm numbers so I can start to plan for the timing of the event, such things as how long we can spend at each check point and what time we will arrive at Mt Washington and what time dinner is to be served to how many items a checkpoint needs to have for the event...,

I spoke with Mt Washington today and they want me to confirm my numbers no later than August 1st. I can allow a handful after that but not many, so even if you are thinking of attending, please fill out the registration form.

Lastly, as I say, I want to hit 50 cars this year and blow our previous donation record out of the water.., last year we managed to raise just over $5,000.00, help me to beat that. The Poker Run is now one month out. It is time to start paying for the registrations or at the very least, if you haven't already, confirm your attendance. Keep in mind that I have to have firm numbers to the sponsors and the catering people at Mt Washington by August 1st so I need to hear from you by then.

Pretty much all the planning is done, I am still just picking up the donated items for the raffle, organizing the checkpoints and crossing my fingers for the excellent weather that we have enjoyed over the past 3 years.

If you've been thinking of coming out, now is the time to sign up. Lastly if you can't afford to participate in the event but would love to come along for the cruise and perhaps join us for dinner up at Mt Washington, I can work that out. If you pay just for your dinner, and a small donation, you are welcome to come along with us for the rid. You won't have a chance to win any of the $1,000.00 up for grabs but you are more than welcome to come up with us and enjoy dinner and the raffle items.

Two weeks left till the Poker Run. That means that registrations have to be completed by this Saturday. I managed to get an extension, because of the holidays, till Tuesday. I still have a few spots open if you would still like to register for this event.

We have had more wonderful donations including gift certificates for Tinting services, HID installation kits, HID Bulbs, HID driving/fog light kits, Subway gift certificates, Tonnes of golf packages to various golf locations on the island, GPS devices, Honda apparel including some jackets..., and the list goes on and on.

I will be doing the route this Saturday to drop into each of the checkpoints and drop off the cards and instructions, and pick up a whack more swag for the event..., that means more freebies and door prizes.

Reminder: Registration has to be in by this Tuesday, so there is still time!

One week till the Poker Run (Saturday August 17th). Everything is in place and I'm just looking forward to the event. I still have a few spots open if you wish to contact me I can fit you in. 43 Cars registered so far with75 people.

This will be the last update for this years event on the forums. I will be using email to update the participants. Watch for pictures! I encourage everyone to post up pictures and I will update the forums with links to the pictures that are hosted elsewhere.

Thanks to everyone for registering and helping me to make this a big success once again! See you all either Friday night or Saturday morning. For those of you that want to come out to the pre-meet on Friday it is at 4000 Seymour place in Victoria at 7:30. We will be there for about an hour then probably head out for a cruise and some food. Your more than welcome to come out with us.
