Default Unique Key Problem

I just bought a 2001 audi quattro 2.8 and the only key that came with it is the master or valet key. It is just a regular audi key with no remote buttons.

I bought another master key off ebay to have as a spare. I can get the key cut, but as far as programming, everything I have read on this or any other forum has been about how to program the remotes with using the old key in ignition and pressing buttons on the remotes.

Does anyone know of a way to program a second master key when the only key I have that works is the master with no buttons.

I just need to program the immobilizer function.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Default Re: Unique Key Problem

Correct me if i'm wrong i'm a locksmith & an owner of a 2001 4.2 but according to my T-Code manual (it's the programming unit i use for a majority of cars). There is no way to program this vehicle without a programming tool. A local locksmith or dealer is your best bet. Since you can drive the car i'd take it to a local lock shop. Make sure it's a legit locksmith there are a lot of impostors out these days!
