Default Purchase Dealer vs. Service Dealer

Did a quick search to see if this question was asked before - couldn't find anything obvious.

I purchased/ordered my 2011 Q5 from one dealer but don't want to drive all the way out there for service. I am going to purchase Audi Care and am not sure that a different dealer will be motivated to provide the same perks that my purchase dealer would (i.e. loaner car during the service, etc.)

Anyone have any thoughts on what the best approach is here - are the dealers still motivated to get my service business (at least 5yrs worth) even if i did not purchase the vehicle from them and have Audi Care? Anything else to look out for when selecting a dealer for service?

Thanks!

You can buy your car from whoever you want and go to whoever you want for your service as they work for Audi and will do the service for you as i would not worrie about this at all .

I'm doing exactly that, bought one in Toronto and will service one in Barrie. I don't expect any issues with this approach. I gave my local dealer chance to come with best price, but he didn't even call back.... Oh well, I wasn't expecting him to, price I got was to good.
All Audi dealers have to perform up to Audi standards. On the top of that, don't forget that for every Audi car serviced - they got paid. That is how service department makes money. So it's in their business to have you service car with them. Of course it's entirely your call who earns your business.

from my previous experiences owning cars and actually working at dealerships, the bread and butter of every dealership comes from service. the amount of money they make from a car sale is nothing compared to the multiple visits you'll make for service, parts, and perhaps, a future purchase.

thanks for the quick feedback - didn't think it would be an issue - was more concerned around getting a loaner car when i take it in. Looks like that does not seem to be an problem?

i don't think it'll be a problem, especially just reading the pamphlet i got for audi care, you can purchase it in the first year, or 20,000km whichever comes first. i reckon you can purchase it even at the dealer you go for service.
