Default Remove Side Moulding

Has anyone removed their side moulding on the four doors? I'm thinking about removing it on my B7 but not sure if there is an indentation where the mouldings are placed once i remove it (or will it be a smooth surface)?

I have a B6 and i looked at doing that and if you open the door and look at it I think there might be a indent there I'm pretty sure i have one so i didn't bother doing it

good luck
