Q5 Premium Bluetooth/AMI/Sirius Question

Hi there, I am looking at a Q5 without Nav or Tech pkg. I am confused about three things: 1) Will the "Bluetooth® Phone Preparation" in the Premium pkg allow me to pair my phones, see the Caller ID on the LCD screen, sync phonebook to LCD screen, mute the stereo, hang up via button on dashboard, etc, or do I need to get the Nav package to get some of those features? 2) The Q5 Premium comes with "Audi Music Interface" (AMI) whereas the Nav package has Audi MMI®, I don't really know the difference but my question here is can I hook up my IPOD and see the song titles on the LCD screen without NAV? 3) The Q5 has SIRIUS® Satellite Radio* with an asterisk beside it when I configure it at Audi.ca. I assume this just means I need to get a subscription for it to work? Again if I activate it will I be able to manipulate the Sirius system via the LCD screen? Thanks in advance.

Hi there:

Firstly, great choice on the Q5. It's an AMAZING car.

1) You do not need the NAV. By default you will get the AMI screen with out the NAV and you will have full access to your phone book and caller ID etc... on the screen via BT.

2) AMI is 6.5", MMI is 7.0" Nav package of course gives you loads of extra. To answer your question about the iPod hook up I don't "believe" you need a NAV package to connect ipod I am not 100% sure as I have the NAV so don't want to tell you the wrong thing perhaps someone else will confirm this. But I am confident you will need the ipod cable.

3) Yes you need a subscription and yes you will be able to control it via the LCD.

I have the Tech, the B&O and the Nav package on mine so feel free to ask any questions. I strongly recommend the B&O package it's incredible.

I think that special ipod cable will need a special type of connection port in the Q5, I am not certain still that the Premium model will have that feature, does anyone know?

The special connection port is in the glove compartment. If you go to any Audi dealerships most of them have a premium car with no Navi for test drive you can open the glove and look at the left side to see if there is a connection.

Identical order to me except for black interior. The wait is killing me!!!
