I personally haven't heard anything bad about the Q7. You might want to do some extensive Google search for any issues. It's being redesigned soon though. If you ask me go with a loaded top of the line Q5, it's an AMAZING car.

We've got a 2009 Q7 3.6 S-Line and we love it. It has plenty of room, much more than a ML and although it is quite a large vehicle, it drives like it is much smaller. It is easy to drive in a crowded city like Calgary. It's also great on the highway, very secure and a nice planted feel on the road.

S-Line suspension and 20" wheels make for a slightly harsh ride on the bad Calgary roads, but it's not too bad.

One thing we found was that there is noticeable brake squeal after the first 100kms and I've read posts on various sites mentioning the same thing. I took it back to the Audi dealer and they replaced the pads for me and it's been fine ever since. I've been told it's a VW/Audi thing.............

Price of a well equipped Q7 will probably be closer to Mercedes GL territory, but it will be money well spent.
