Does anyone have a dash/console picture of a premium without Nav? I didn't get the Nav (of course I would have liked it) and was wondering if there is no central control knob to run the other functions of the MMI.
Looking closely at the GLK 350 (whjch still had the knob without NAV) before I went with the Q5 I thought it would still have it.
Found these on the net (link at the bottom of the pg. I believe these are from the 2009 Q5). Looks very similar to the dash of the premium the showroom had a while back. No nav... It is also my understanding that the digital speedo is also in RED without NAV. Mine has NAV and is white for the spedo and the other Sline I drove did not have NAV and was Red as shown here.
Premium with no Nav as the central knob right below the CD tray as seen in the image. When you get Nav the knob is moved below the gear shifter. You're right about the red vs white colors.
Only other different is that the Nav screen is half an inch larger than the no Nav screen. I am 99.9% sure of this but can very well be wrong.
The knob is in the centre of the console. Aside from the NAV being as cool and fun to use as it is, having the knob below the shifter makes it a breeze to operate the MMI while moving as the arm is supported by the centre arm rest. Safer IMO as the body is more stable.
As a side note, was looking at the fuel gauge in the above pics and noticed the F (full) E (Empty) symbols. Mine has 1/1 (full) and R (empty) if memory serves.
These are the little things the formums are so great for. I doubt the dealers could even explain what you both just did. Any idea if the B&O stereo changes any thing to the eye?

The B&O changes the speaker grille covers in the doors and on the dash in the corners by the windows, and in the top of the doors where the mirrors are which are the tweeters (I also believe that there are more speakers with the B&O including a sub in the trunk, but then again I cannot confirm this as I have never counted in a Non-B&O Q5)... See attached pics. You will note the circular B&O speakers with the chrome trim (top pic) versus the traditional plastic ventilated speaker covers on the non B&O.
This forum has been great to me througout my whole Q5 buying and waiting experience and I am glad to be able to repay some of that assistance.
