Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum. I'm looking at purchasing a Q5. Just started doing my research; have yet to take one for a test drive. I've been looking back at some of the previous posts here and it seems as though some have had issues with carbon deposits in the intake and injectors. I'm a member of PCA (Porsche Club of America) and they have a tech Q&A section on their site. The guys answering the questions are Porsche technicians or shop managers. And in a number of the answers to questions about cleaning the engine internals of carbon, it is suggested to go to full throttle and redline while getting on freeways to blow out any excess carbon in the engine. Not sure if this applies to all types of engines but I guess its something to consider.

This is very interesting, logically it makes sense. It's also a good excuse to use tip-tronic or the Sports mode. Thanks for sharing.
