Default A3 2006 , what do i need to install NAVIGATION SYSTEM

I want to install the navigation system in my gf A3, she have the Bose radio whit 6 cd changer right now. Anything i should check first ? I red somewhere that i need to have the Audi with the correct ready to connect cable built in . Also wil she be able to control the system from the steering wheel? Can that thing read MP3 ? does it come whit a cd/dvd player ?

I have 2006 a3 3.2 as well, my car came stock with the navigation system. I'm no expert but I'm technical enough to know that you need the RNS-E audi navigation system plus.

I do know that you have to program this thing as well, also the cabling and integration with the cd changer is tricky.

Not to discourage you or anything but it's a very complicated system.

It's nice having the built in nav and radio control and blue tooth in my car but honestly if it wasn't stock, I would just use my garmin. The interface is very cumbersome

It can ready mp3 via SD memory, or CDMP3, the DVD is used for the nav software and needs to be in all the time. The NAV software is not cheap 199 for the dvd, but I have copies if someone needs it lol
