I agree f%$k Canadian Tire
I use ELF synthetic 5W40 in my TT which I get locally from a performance shop. This oil is approved by Audi which I highly recommend.

I too only use ELF synthetic. And it's rated for 12 000km! Oil changes twice a year
I change when the car computer tells me as I put on 5k a month, therefore about every three months for an oil change, I do hovever keep a close eye on the dip stick. I drive a lot of highway k's

Motul is a great oil. Be very careful as AMS Oil is not API registered and will void your warranty (if you have one).
To all my Audi friends - always follow the VW compliance guide for lubricants and ensure the oil you buy is lsited for use in VW/Audi engines. Never takea chance. This could be the worst decision you will ever make, other than getting married...lol jokes!
FYI - the 2009 + Audi models are not delivered with dipsticks, but the guide tube is still rpesent. Simply visit your local Audi dealer and they will supply you with one.
Wow! I just noticed this thread is 3 years old lol!
Regarding the amsoil thing, it is true that they are not a vw502 approved oil, as they have never paid to be tested and approved by vw, so if you are under warranty, I would recommend staying away from amsoil. That being said, in independant tests, they actually fare better than most (if not all) vw502 oils, and their 5w40 is advertised as exceeding vw505.1 standards, so I think once your warranty expires, that amsoil is probably one of the better choices out there.
Just my 2 pennies!

I'm seeing castrol syntec 0w-30 as an approved oil... but on some other lists it's not. IS castrol syntec 0w-30 an approved oil? and between 5w-40 and 0w-30 (castrol syntec) which one do you guys recommend?
