Default Audis ROCK! Now I need to do it justice....gotta few questions

hey all,

Relatively new to the forum, and Audi ownership.....I've had my 00 B5 S4 for a few months now, and I love that little thing! But I need some advice:

I want to give it a bit of a drop. Not too aggressive cause I'm driving this in the winter mainly, but I want it to sit nice. you know, a "clean, classy" drop.....what kind of suspension set up do you recommend? I have some kwv2s on my bmw 335i, and I LOVE them. I don't want too bumpy a ride, so comfort and look are both important to me. Do you guys recommend any particular spring/shock set up, or good coilovers?

I'm also looking into some rims/rubber for the summer....I want to go 19s and nothing less dammit.....so far, from lurking, I find that many go with either BBS wheels or the newerish RS4 reps.....I like the RS4 reps, and I actually really like the older b5 rs4 wheels.....

Any idea where I might find these at a decent price?

Also, someone I know has some iForged wheels for sale. Says he'll give'em to me for like $2500.....he bought em for like $4000 a couple years back. I saw some pics on his laptop, but w/o rubber/mounted....looked kinda 5-starish....need to see them in person......still seems kinda steep to me for 2.5k, w/o rubber.....

I know I haven't told you anything about the actual rim, lol, but any thoughts about iForged in general, and especially ones that are 2 years old?

Thanks guys for any input, I really appreciate it.....

Marty

Congrats on acquiring the B5 S4!

Would strongly suggest skip springs and go with adjustable coilovers like H&R / Vogtland / more expensive PSS9's, etc.

Personally I think 19's are too big for a B5 chassis and 18's are plenty big enough. I run 17" B5 RS4 rep's and am quite happy to not drive on rubber bands!

hey dude, thanks for replying!

Ya, with regards to wheels, if I went with the older b5 rs4 reps, then I'd wanna go 19". But I haven't seen any pics of a b5 s4 with the b7 RS4 reps on them yet. I'd like to see what my car would look like, with those rims, dropped a bit....maybe 18s are big enough with those....but 19s on the b5 rs4s just look like money to me......

thanks again dude for your input...

oh and btw,

do you know of any good vendors either in Canada or the US, or anywhere for that matter, that would have good prices on the Coilovers? Any particular model of the H&R CO you spoke of?

thanks bro...

For more wheel ideas, check out S4 Wheel Gallery

I'm very happy with Vogtlands purchased from Mike at Pure Motor Sport.
Mike also carries H&R's PURE Motorsport, LLC Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and VW Parts & Accessories

i have PSS9's on my b5 2.8, and they rock. little stiff, but even dropped about 1.75 in the snow here in calgary, theres no real problems (aside from my front lip being a snow plow).

should be your best bet, especially if you want a little lower for summer, and a little higher for winter.
