Smallest winter tires for an A5?

Just wondering how low I can go in winter tire fitment for an A5? Will rims from other Audi's eg. A4 or VW's fit? If anybody has any wheel specs that will safely fit, that would be appreciated. I know one of the dimensions is 5x112, but theres prob more to it than that. Thanks!

Hey diablo,
I think 16"s are the smallest you can go with; I know Tirerack.com says it'll fit (even shows you what it'll look like), but I went with the 17"s...5x112, 35 offset and 66 hub...

Rims from older Audi's and VW's will not fit. Not only did the bolt pattern change, the hub size did as well (I think it's 66.5 mm for the A5, but I won't swear to it). Some have said that rims for Mercedes will fit, but I've never checked into that.

16" is the smallest you can get for an A5.
