Default Winter's Coming!! Any recommendations on Tires?

Hey all,
Just wondering if you have any recommendations on a set of winter tires...I was looking at the Dunlop Wintersport 3D, the Pirelli 210 Sottozero Serie II, and the Falken HS439...

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

The Dunlops are pretty good, I have them on a different car. Mind you we probably don't get as much snow here (Vancouver) as you do. I'm considering the Falcon's for our Audi b/c of the low price, but I can't find too much info on them b/c they were just introduced last year. I had a set of Pirelli 210 Snowsports on a previous car and they were great too!

Awesome!! Thanks for the advice, I was looking for some reviews as well on the Falken's, managed to only find 2...but all positive...the price is reasonable as well...I think I'll be going with the Falken's due to the price....

Much appreciated!!

You're welcome! Fyi, there's not many Audi resources for us Canadians, check out our site (and post a picture of your car) at Vancouveraudiclub.ca!

I used the Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds on my TT in Ottawa and we got of snow there. The tires together with the awd was amazing, I drove from Quebec city to Ottawa in a snow storm and the car felt as sure as it does during summer driving. Highly recommended!

I still use them for my winter tires.

Great insights.

I have a 2008 Audi A4 3.2 with S-Line Package. Anyone know whether 16 inch rims will fit over braker calipers?

Hey tser,
I talked to the Audi dealership and they said that 17"s are recommended, however, if you go on the tirerack.com, their website says it can fit 16"s...hmm...

Also, just wondering if anyone had any feedback on the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R? I heard good things, but the speed rating is a lower. Would that make a big difference?

Thanks!

Any more findings on the HS439? I gotta say that they are tempting due to the low price and the falken azenis I had on my subaru were simply AWESOME (beside road noise).

i wouldn't worry too much about the lower speed rating, are you really going to need the v-rated tires to drive 240km/h during winter?

Exactly, but I mentioned it to a friend, and he said that it was to 'mushy' and 'soft' in the corners....
Everyone I've talked to said that the Nokians are really good, so I think I'm going to go with them...

Thanks for everyone's input!!!
