A6 2000 When brake paddle is pressed makes a click noise

After starting the engine whenever I press & release the Brake paddle, I hear a click / click noise from the Gear section.

Is that normal.

Yes it is the shifter interlock. You need to press on the brake pedal to shift ot of park or neutral....
