Default 3m Paint Protection Film

Hi guys,

I was surfing the web and came across a couple places in the GTA that install this protective film for front bumper, headlights, and hood. I was wondering if anybody has done this on their cars and is it worth it?

Seen it done on many cars here in montreal. Doesn't look like those terrible wind deflectors, it's pretty low key and works really well. Easier to peel off the film after 3 years and replace it than it is to repaint the front end. Not to mention it's cheaper too. Consider getting the first 2-3 inches of the roof done as well. My s4 gets hammered there all kinds.

Got mine included from the dealer when i got my 08 avant.

they did the front bumper, front 1/4 panels, backs of the mirrors and the edges around all the doors.

Great investment i think.

There is a 303 aerospace protective.....blah blah blah from canadian tire that has uv protection and the film doesn't yellow at all. It will get pited and matt from sand and stones, but will still be translucent.
Can you post the details about the place that does this?
Thanks.

Great, thanks!
There is also lamin-x.com. They make precut film that you can install yourself.

Hey, You could do that or go to xpel.com. They have the best patterns.

I really would not suggest trying the install yourself as you wil llikley not be all to happy with the results unless it is a very easy piece and you have experiance with vinyl or window tint. And on top of it all it is not cheap and you would not want to have to order new pieces.

Yeah, price is 250 to 400 depending where you get it from.
I only did my headlights with lamin-x so I don't have a lot of experience....but I learned that it takes a lot of water spraying and patience to take all the bubles out. The film is fearly forgiving and you can peel it off and reaply it A LOT (before it dries). Once it dries...your screwed.
So, you're right jetblack, not for the feinted heart
