You know you're spoiled when...

Re: You know you're spoiled when...
Couple of issues:
1. Rough starts - Faulty injectors (3.2 engine): Replacing #1, 2 and 6.
2. Issues with Parking Assist (would fail - no camera or the screen just wouldn't show up): Replacing the MMI cable from the camera (they sent a TAC to Audi).
3. Re-balanced the wheels (had a shake).
4. Weird noise (sounds like the fuel pump is priming or dumping) once the Q5 is off. I don't think this is an actual issue since I heard the same thing from the loaner A4 on the first day with it.
5. Keyless doesn't always open the trunk/unlock doors - need to use the keyfob. I don't think they'll find this one or be able to fix it.
All small stuff - just had to wait for the parts and they thought it easier for me to keep the loaner until they could fix it.
Soo..... I CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW NIGHT!!!! WOOT WOOT!!

On another note, I totally know what you mean about being spoiled. Coming out of the Q5 and into my IS250, it is not as refined. I still remember upgrading from my CR-V to the IS and how nice it was. This isn't good, I am becoming a snob.

Re: You know you're spoiled when...
Glad to hear that. On point 5, I noticed that I have issues with my Advanced Key sometimes as well. So far I see that if I have other metals things in my pocket with the fob, such as other keys and coins, it tend not to work. As of now, if I have the fob in my pocket, I have nothing else and I haven't had issues since. This is just my experience so far but it doesn't hurt to try and see. I know ladies tend to keep the fob in their purses, so try a separate compartment.

We're not snobs, our tastes change (improve/refine) with age.... We're also willing to spend more since we make more than when we were students! HA!

Agreed, my tastes have been a bit more refined. I drive my mom's Pathfinder ever so often, and it does not drive nearly as nice not to mention it has worse fuel economy to go with that.
I still remember my first job when I was a starving student going to university... how I managed to survive on that? Lots of ramen...

Hope you have your baby back by now! I will certainly post results of my loaner...ha ha...and when I get my re-brained Q back. Am I nervous and excited? Yep. Excited about performance and "feel" differences, and nervous about all the things that I have not considered that could go wrong with such, it seems, major surgery.

I don't know why the "the things" text in my last post came up as a link. Don't click it: it's some advertising spam. Hey Administrators, can you fix this?

Hi to the forum and fellow Q5 owners. When I dropped off my Q5 for service they gave me a brand new 2011 A3TDI. I loved it and had a blast with it. I gave up our BMW 335XI and now want to buy an A3 as an interim second vehicle.

I'm scheduled to take in my Q on Oct. 5th for 2 weeks
am somewhat worried more than anything else.. why? you say? Well, a few days ago while at the dealer I saw a Q5 being worked on by 3 mechanics. -The Q5 was on a lift and the entire engine and transmission was removed from the vehicle!!
I approached the mechanics and was informed that the vehicle was being serviced due to a faulty oil pump! -I had to ask... and indeed it was necessary to remove the engine and tranny.
The mechanic said that they take apart cars like this all the time and that it looks alot worse than it actually is ...?
Anyone know if this is how they service Audi's ? My Q is going in for excessive oil consumption and i'm sure the only thing on the lift will be the body and wheels..
I'm really concerned. -And yes I will miss the Q dearly!

I don't have it back because the MMI cable didn't come in last Friday. We had to use the A4 for our weekend getaway. Going out of town to a place we've never been - NAVI would have been really nice... I'm hoping to get the e-mail/call today to pick it up.

Oh, well. They at least gave me a right-out-of-the-box A3 for my loaner. I came out of one for the Q5 so that's fun—great little driving car.
