Default Wheel Changeover

Just picked up my 2010 Q5 premium on Friday (loving it!). I bought the optional 19" rims through the parts dept. as I didn't have time to change my order before it arrived.

Due to a major storm that I got caught in on the way back from Saskatoon I couldn't get to the Edmonton dealer to get the 19's put on before they closed. I did manage to pick up the tires/rims, but the dealership doesn't do tires on Saturdays.

Does anyone know if I have the tires changed over locally if I will have to reset anything (if I can even do it) to ensure the TPMS won't come on? The Q5 does have the soft rubber valve stems.

Thanks.

Congrats. To be safe after the tire swap go in the car setup menu and save your tire pressure setting assuming they're all set properly. And sure you should be able to get it changed anywhere. I've swamped between my 19" upgrades and my 18" winters with no issues (did it at a local shop).

Good luck

2010 sensors are in the ABS system so your go to go. When I put on snows this year no hiccoughs.

Yup - above statement is correct. I didn't know this and wasted 180 bux on sensors for my winter rims.

There a nice post about this topic with lots of good pics by ReginaTTS. Check it out.

That's awesome. You can easily reset in the future just make sure all 4 tires are even in pressure when you set it.
