Trailer wiring adaptor
I recently bought an 2009 Audi Q7 which came with the towing package installed from the factory, as far as I know. Now I need to know what adapter I will need to buy to hock up for trailer lighting.
I see that there is a small plate on the left of the hitch receiver that has a cover over it (see picture below). When I take the cover off there is a wire as per the picture below.
Is this what I need for the adaptor?
Hitch Depot USA- Trailer Hitches and Towing Accessories | CURT LED Trailer Light Adapter #57003
I called the dealer and they told me that I need a $80 part but they did not have it in stock for me to look at.
Then I also want to buy the converter from 7 way to 4 way flat

Re: Trailer wiring adaptor
That's not your normal North American round 7 pin RV connector so I guess you do need some sort of adapter. As far as going from a regular round 7 pin to a flat 4 pin goes, they're easy to find. I've bought one at Canadian Tire.

On second look, that 57003 adapter doesn't look right either. I don't see any way that plug would fit the recepticle on your vehicle. A good hitch shop might be able to help you out. Failing that, I would go with the dealer part.
