Swapping brake pads...

Re: Swapping brake pads...
Well, thats your opinion and you are entitled to it.
In my experience, never ever heard a squeek in 34k and breaking performance on my Q5 is amazing, even in wet weather. (Had a close call this summer on the highway and the Q stopped on a dime)
Perhaps bedding yes, but our fellow member Thomas tried it and problem persists. What makes more sense in my opinion is what Thomas said;
' Audi uses brakes from different vendors, and when main is out of stock, then they briefly substitute with temp one to keep production going. I think I got temp vendor brake... '

Haha, it's not an opinion...
Of course Audi uses multiple suppliers, as is the case for all vehicle manufacturers - I outlined that in one of my first posts in the thread. I handed you guys the knowledge to resolve your issue on a silver platter, but you're choosing to ignore it.
I'm not saying this to insult anyone, or be negative, but rather to make this forum a better place:
There is a reason that this forum is bereft of technically-knowledgable members - because knowledgable people generally don't like to explain things repeatedly to newbies. I've helped many people here fix their vehicles - often I've done the wrenching for them - but it makes it difficult to justify wasting my free time when my advice is no longer benefitting many people.

Yes, your comment was annoying, and it's not first one either of that kind, for some reason.... I wish you would leave your attitude elsewhere, knowledge wise - OK.

Wow, don't even know that to think about your posts anymore. Oh wait, here is the solution for you. If you so tired of replying on that thread, then ignore it. Trust me, noone will cry...

Like Axel said, have fun with your problems! I'll stay off this thread and just enjoy my brakes that stop a helluva lot better than yours do, and still don't make a peep

You insult people , are negative and then say oh by the way ..
' I'm not saying this to insult anyone, or be negative, but rather to make this forum a better place' ....
Perhaps my friend you have a distorted version of reality .. but whatever enjoy it.
And yes it did get ugly, but to flamed the fire not anyone else..... and thats the truth

Re: Swapping brake pads...
Anyone notice a lot less brake dust with the recent cooler weather? It hasn't been above 10 C for the past week, and I noticed there was much less accumulation over the last week (I hand wash every week).
Secondly, what was there mostly washed off with the garden hose. Normally, it is stuck to the wheels and requires a light scrub with a wash mitt to remove the brake dust. Is this also a temperature effect? Do temperatures above 10 C cause the dust to stick more aggressively to the wheels? Or maybe this was just a one time thing.
