Default Squeaky Brakes

Is it normal for the brakes to squeak after only 10K on a 2011 Q7? The noise only occurs at low speeds as I gently come to rest at a red light or stop sign. It’s pretty annoying especially when I have the window down. If I brake harder then I don't get any noise.

Obviously, I need to take it to the dealership for them to take a look but just I wanted to know if others had experienced the same issue.

Cheers

It's probably just very dry, my S4 does it very frequently.

yea my q5 is the same.
i saw it somewhere that said many new audis are like this.
i think its not a big deal.
if its squeaky means the brakes arent slippery, which is good :P (not to be taken srsly)

I noticed this on my Q5 except it wasn't a squeak, is was more of a quiet grind.

Try bedding the brakes in a bit to see if it helps. Most people use such a small percentage of the capacity of their brakes that they often don't wear evenly. Google for brake bedding procedures (Stoptech and Wilwood both have good procedures). Bedding should be done when the discs/pads are new, but you'll benefit from a good bed-in now. Failing that, you can apply some anti-squeal to the back of the pads.

Squealing is usually nothing to be concerned about mechanically - it's just a nuisance. High-end brake pads squeal like crazy.

@Cheeba I'll Google brake bedding and see what is involved and if its something that I can easily do.

Thanks guys for your responses.
