Re: Rick's SQ5 in Estoril Blue & Garage
I just ordered it, won't deliver until April.
I've confirmed fitment of 22x10.5" with +30 offset using 265-35-22 tires.
here is a picture showing this exact combo.
I run 22" on my VW Touareg right now (in summer).
I love your SQ5, it's awesome. Makes me even more excited.

Congrats, Shea! I've seen a Sepang Blue '15 running around Calgary with the black optics package. Looks pretty sporty. I like the Estoril and the Sepang, if they were both being offered that would be a tricky choice, for sure.
I'm quite happy with the appearance and handling of the 21" optional wheels. Honestly, I think you may find the stiffness of the 22" to be a bit of a headache. What size tire does that size of a rim require? You must be looking at a 35-series which could result in a harsher ride than you want. But, that said, I had 35-series Yokohama's on 22's on my Q7 and loved it. I'm no fitment expert so I am going to assume you have done your homework and that's the offset you need for the particular wheel you have in mind. I say go for it, if you love them. I know nothing about Nitto's other than they seem to be a reasonably priced tire.
Let me know what you end up doing. When do you get it, or do you have it already?

Well, not sure if anyone is actually logging in to this forum these days, it's been so slow. But, I thought I would post up some pics of my freshly-detailed engine bay.

Now that winter is in the rearview mirror, I look forward to doing my annual paint polish and seal. Stay tuned...

Re: Rick's SQ5 in Estoril Blue & Garage
Well, the Pirelli's are nearing the end of their lives, so I had some difficult decisions to make. I was never impressed with the PZero's and I'm not convinced spending two grand to replace them with the Dunlop Sport Maxx's is the right decision. I am leaning towards an all season in the 265/40 size, but that decision can wait until next summer. In the meantime, I picked up a "shoulder season" wheel/tire package consisting of 20x9" Hartmann HTT-256-MA:M and 255/45 Yokohama Parada Spec-X's. This setup will bridge the gap between full summer and full winter tires. I scored them from RPI Equipped in Richmond, BC and got a decent deal on them since they were slightly used. The offset wasn't ideal, so I used 15mm spacers on the rear and 12mm on the front. What do you think?
