Default Remote Starter

Just ordered my winters (Hartmann 204's and Blizzaks) and was thinking of putting in a remote starter -- any suggestions are appreciated!

what size rims did you go with? nice choice on the wheels. I am torn between 18 and 19. I will be going from 20inch s-line mags and feel 18 might change the look of the car too much.

Yup, went with the 19's...didn't want to drop to the 18's from my slines and the Hartmann 204's have an sline look to them.

Audi Q5 on 19 inch Hartmann HRS6 - 204 wheels

Remote Starter is a good idea but unless you're having Audi install it, I wouldn't do it. Lots of things can go wrong in my experience with Japanese cars. I can imagine Germans car's electrical system is a lot more complex.

Thanks Warcity--I'll look into it.

I had a remote start on my old A4 B5 and A4 B7 and never had an issue.

I don't have one on my Q5 because they (the dealer) told me it would void the warranty and they don't offer the remote starter as well.

Interesting- thanks for the heads up-time to call the dealer!

I would contact Audi Canada directly; dealers are not always correct/honest with their info.

my dealer told me that installing a remote starter would void the warranty. they don't install them anymore due to too many issues in the past.

Same for me.
Dealer did not want to install and strongly suggested I don't have it done elsewhere either because of malfunction issues with Audi's electrical system.
This will be my first car without remote starter!
