Q5...Chatter

Re: Q5...Chatter
Afretes, I don't know where you are getting your information. Perhaps your comments are true in other parts of the world but in Canada, 19" wheels are available as a stand-alone option on the Premium Trim and 20" wheels come equipped with S-Line. Also, there is no chance the North American Q5 will see a 2.0T anytime soon

Re: Q5...Chatter
It only makes sense for the 2.0T to come here, after all the 2.0T A4 is here, but it's a turbo engine, gas consumption will be a bit better than 3.2 but not by much, also bare in mind the Q5 is a heavy SUV it's 1930 KG that's a lot. You really need the torque and the HP that the 3.2 offers to truly enjoy that car. Specially if you plan to toe.
I went from a 1.8 engine to a 3.2 and I can really feel the pinch but you know when I am driving her, I REALLY ENJOY it.

I don't know. If Audi bring out a Q5 2.0 it could really impact the sales of the 2.0 A4. I know in Europe they have the 2.0T and it's popular but honestly I don't think that engine is strong enough for a car of that size and weight but it'll make the price a bit cheaper. I certainly don't want to see the streets flooded with the Q5 like the crappy X3 (this my opinion, I am not trying to start a back and forth with anyone on the X3).
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Q5...Chatter
Everyone is talking about smaller engines.... I hope that Audi will bring the 2.0 version (though I have the 3.2). I think it is more than enough for this car in North America. I used to drive an A6 with 2.0TDI (yes, TDI is a bit different) and 230KM/h on the Autobahn no problem.

Re: Q5...Chatter
Don't get me wrong I am all for a 2.0T engine but I don't think it's a good engine on the Q5. Q1 is launching 2011. They should put in on the Q1 which is a smaller car. The Q5 is famous in it's class for having the highest towing capacity 4000 pounds that's huge. 270 HP 248 pound feet of torque and 6.8 seconds 0-100 these are impressive numbers. 2.0 engine is good but it will totally take away from the numerous distinctions of the current Q5 engine. Also for folks who have 4 passengers in their car, with a trunk fool and maybe a cargo rack and a boat behind the Q5, the 2.0T will not answer. The 2.0T will certainly put a damper on the A4 sales. If someone want this engine this should drop 50K and dress up a nice VW Tinguan which has almost the same features as the Q5.
Audi needs to be very careful when classifying the Q5 and the Q1 in their line up. X1 is going to be a big competition and no one knows what the new X3 is going to be like but I think the current Q5 is in a good position to compete with the X3.

Re: Q5...Chatter
2.0L 211HP, 350Nm, 7.2 sec. 0-100km/h. I think that is pretty good and far enough for most people.
Interesting note, the 2.0 engine has as the first 4 cylinder engine the AudiValvelift System. Result: increase from 280 to 350Nm.
Just for completeness, I am not arguing with anyone. I guess I am just used to smaller engines from living in Europe and knowing that they are just fine. I would have waited for the smaller engine but we wanted the Q5 since the beginning.
