Default New Q7 - Foggy Windows - crappy AC

Hi Everyone,

I recently picked up a brand new 2014 Q7 TDI. On wet days, one thing that i've noticed is the windows tend to fog up and I have a hard time getting them to clear. I also noticed the AC doesn't seem to blow very cold - I couldn't tell much difference in temp between AC ON and OFF. The air is cool, but I wouldnt say cold. Keep in mind it is winter time.

Do other Q7 owners have issues with getting the windows to clear up?

Is the AC system in these cars not very good?

Running the fan at full speed is a total pita as it's VERY loud and distracting!

I haven't discussed this with the deal yet. I just wanted to investigate first.

thanks!

Congrats on the new vehicle! The AC system in the newer Audi's take a bit of getting used too. They work great overall.

The best way to have the windows clear is to leave the AC on while defrosting the windows, it automatically turns on all the time so just let it run as it will suck the humidity from the vehicle. I typically select the front and rear defroster and it will do the trick. I had an issue earlier this year from washing my vehicle and leaving it outside right before a cold streak. Each morning for a week there would be a ton of built up moisture inside my vehicle which took forever to clear. Your dealer could have possibly done that? You need to park it in a warm garage for 1-2 days to let it all evaporate.

I use the "Auto" feature 100% of the time. Pick the temperature and let it choose the fan location/speed. When warming the vehicle It won't blow hot air until the engine is warm which makes sense since blowing cold air is no good. I think the AC works the same, but it's been cold for so long I don't remember.
