I think you can take as low as 17" winter tires without throwing off the odometer.

Even if it would come with all season tires, you need winter tires.

Q5 + S-line look way better than standard Q5. The harsher ride is something i didnt think about, but anyway, the interior color limitation is a deal breaker. I have to decide this week as i need the car for mid-june.

I did not expect to have so many people helping out, I really appreciate it.
There's a 40 or so phrase training session (built into the MMI) that helps the computer understand your voice. But even with that, here's what may happen:

I press the hands-free button on steering wheel and say,"Navigation"
NAVAGATION (switches to NAV home screen)
"Enter Street"
PLEASE ENTER STREET NAME
"Yonge St"
PLEASE SELECT FROM THE FOLLOWING LIST: ONG ST, YAN ST, YANGTZE

Realizing that Yonge St is not on the list, I must use the MMI **** to manually select each letter (of "Yonge"). The computer is smart enough to pick up frequently used street names so I may not need to enter the "g" and "e" (of "Yonge")

Frequently used (100% successful) voice commands are to zoom in/out ("scale" command) and "last destinations" (gives a list of recent locations and I'd say "line 2" (item/address 2 of 5) if the address is on that page, or "next page" if on the next page)

No problem helping out. We've all been on that newbie stage and not all of us can carelessly part with $50K+. Gotta due the due diligence to make sure you're getting what you think you're getting.

Good Luck.

With this being said, from your experience, is the navigation really worth the $3200? Can it recognize two different voices easily? How often would you say it doesn't understand your commands? The reason I ask is $3200 is big money that could be spent elsewhere (S Line) when a Garmin would do a fine job.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, there is a lot more to the Nav package than just the Nav. So its tough to decide

I have a friend who has 17" winter rims, I myself had 18" winter rims, you don't throw anything off with the odometer.

What I did was not get the Sline package instead I paid 600 dollars and had the dealer install only the Sline grill which is the only thing I liked. If you're not planning on using the paddle shift I don't see any value on the sline package aside from the grill. This is my personal opinion. The black headliners don't always look good depending on the color of your seats and since in the Q5 you don't actually get Sline seats it may not always make sense.

The navi on the other hand is worth every penny.

Thats really interesting. I will definitely ask them if I can do that. It's the same situation with me. I'm not too big on the bigger wheels, or the paddle shifters/steering wheel upgrade. Its the grill that looks great.

They might tell you that Sline grill will not fit an non sline bumper. That's NOT the case. All Q5 grills fit each other's bumpers. If they tell you that, let me know and I'll give you the part number. They will order it and install it for you. They charged me 1.5 hours of labor.

I chose the panoramic view not only it looks awesome, but it lets a lot of fresh air and light into the car. Friends are always impressed with it, and it doesn't blast wind in your face like when you roll down the window.

The Nav not only gives you front sensors, but the ultimate MMI experience and voice controls which can activate many features in the navigation and car (something you need to learn to use) and back up camera which is quite nice..other day the wife was driving and had to back up in a busy market. Luckily when we were backing up, we saw on the camera two parents with two strollers going by right behind our bumper, we braked right away. Obviously we would have seen this anyway if we didn't have a camera, but hey, you never know, what if there were no parents and just kids running behind the car, visuals are nicer than just sensors beeping without the camera. Not only there is a camera view, it gives you a view of the car and red bars of how close the object is to the car. Now the S-line, Everytime I see it on the road, it does give me wood, however I couldn't justify paying extra and knowing I needed to get another set of winter rims... The stock car looks great already, and quite aggressive. check out my pics I posted in a new thread.
The 18" split spoke wheels with premium plus it works for me! Maybe one day I'll get bigger rims for some more poser points.

And the sound system, I think the stock one is fine. Just tune up the treble +2 and bass +5 and fade +1 towards the back, and it sounds awesome. If money was no issue, then I would have added the S-line. But functionality was first on my mind. I regret not getting the dynamic headlights, only extra $350 or something like that. that would have been cool.

Good points made above

- Nav also gives you dual SD slots, DVD player which allows you to play MP3s on a DVD and also 40 GB onboard drive (7-8 gb will be used by the navi).

- I also recommend the B&O above anything else. 14 speakers, incredible and precise system.
