need help choosing ext. colour
Hello everyone....I ordered a Q5 in lava grey (s-line). What I would like to know is your opinion? I have started to notice that a lot of the newer SUVs on the road are either in black or white....those seem to be the most popular colours. I love black too but decided on lava grey because I wanted something a bit different. However, I am now worried I may regret not getting it in black. I may have only a week left to change things.
So what do you guys think? Which is the most popular colour in Q5s? Those of you that have lava grey...do you regret not getting black? Has the lava grey pearl effect faded at all?
I really would appreciate any advice/opinions at this time.
Thanks

I had Lava on my 2007 a3 and chose it again for my Q5. No regrets. No fading. No reason to think about black, IMO. Lava is much more interesting but still a neutral tone.

Lava Grey is a gorgeous colour, especially in the sun. It's very rich with a deep metallic. You won't be disappointed.
AK-Q5: Meteor Grey is unfortunately discontinued for 2012 in all models. Hang on to your Meteor Grey if you've got one!

Re: need help choosing ext. colour
I got white ('cuz that and black were the "free" colours). I recall reading in this forum that black might show a lot of salt (winter roads). I might have chosen a pearl grey if that option was no charge. Although the other thought I had on avoiding a "fancy" colour was that basic white and/or black might be easier to colour match should a dent or scratch occur. All colours look great (except pepto-mismol pink). Have fun!

Generally, black is a pain to maintain since EVERYTHING show up on the paint...I spent 4 hrs washing, polishing, waxing last night and after the drive to work today it is looking dusty already.
Lava grey is a good choice, don't second guess yourself.

Thank you to everyone for your expert opinions. You have all helped me to make my decision. Although I love equally the colours black and white on SUVs, I am going to stick with the unique lava grey.

Re: need help choosing ext. colour
For us it was a process of elimination and we ordered Lava Grey S-Line. My wife didn't want white (current car), found silver & meteor boring, black too high maintenance, moonlight & monsoon were unknowns when we ordered in April, and the others were in the "definitely not" category. That being said, I think it's a fantastic colour that is well suited to the car. If I went with black it would have been phantom over bb. I had 3 bb Audis and my current car is phantom. It's just one notch down on the high maintenance scale, although nothing beats bb when it's clean.
