Re: Is nav option really worth it?
I had called dealer and added Nav. I went to local dealership, checked it and liked it a lot right from the start. It's so different then portable GPS, way more sophisticated. It even shows quick info on the other screen! I was very impressed!

I initially thought that too, but just go and check it out! I was stunned about screen quality, just to mention that is uses nVidia chip!!! It displays auxiliary nav info and directions on second screen too! I couldn't believe it, it's that good! You have control panel moved too for easy access. Now, if you think about POI and other stuff, then it might be not as good as portable GPS, As other mentioned, you get a lot for 3200$, not just plain GPS system.
I changed my order just in time and more and more I think about it I'm convinced that I’ve made right move.

I regret not getting it now, however I also regret not getting S-line and Audi drive select.
In the end, in my opinion there all great but my car would of cost me 60k+ therefore in this respect i'm glad I saved 10k+
Audi is very smart how they market their products.

Re: Is nav option really worth it?
If you ask me if the nav option is worth $3200, I'd say no. If you ask me whether the nav is a worthwhile feature, I'd definitely say yes. I had a standalone GPS in the past and there's nothing like having your GPS integrated into the vehicle. Not only does it eliminate having a suction cup on your dash but the sound quality is far better, the image quality is superb, etc. I'd definitely recommend it.

whilst having an internal built-in nav is much better than a standalone, maybe it's the north american interpretation of the nav that remains poor. in japan, navs have so much more to offer. much more detail, and much larger screen. the screen on the q5 is so small - am i the only one to think so?
i like the idea of having the buttons on the centre console, and the rear camera. but then again, the rear camera is something i just got used to as it was standard in many cars in japan. $3200 is a lot of money for the centre console.

I totally agree with you. Compared to Asia and maybe even Europe there will be huge differences but to be fair you should compare Apples with Apples and compare it to what other cars are offering here in North America (other luxury brands).
One thing I 100% agree with is the screen is small. Should be at least 8 inches. I mean even Toyota is larger. BMW is wide screen and much larger.
