Heated steering wheel?

Re: Heated steering wheel?
Interesting, the wheel on my truck gets quite toasty and while the difference with the vented steats isn't dramatic, it is noticeable on a hot day. Maybe the folks at Ingolstadt could use some pointers from the folks at Auburn Hills.

Re: Heated steering wheel?
I cant believe how many of you are complaining about the smallest things! Steering wheel warmer? Buy a pair of gloves, cooled seats? Dress accordingly/ use AC. Phone pairing? Seriously? Others made it work get a new phone or better yet SELL YOUR AUDI!
None of you have come out and said look at the Audi's quattro system, or the quality behind the leather, or the structure and engineering, look at my car it doesent have any squeaks. You worry about what Kia/Ford/Toyota and so on have to offer. Then dont buy an Audi.
I know I didnt buy my car for the technology it has but I bought it for the timeless styling and technology that works and has been proven over and over again. Maybe they dont have the latest touch screen or the greatest bells and whistles, but wait a year or two when that touchscreen dies and that technology gets old. You want the latest car with the best of the best bells and whistles, guess what? It does not exist, because when you drive it off the lot its already old.
Its just blowing smoke up a consumers you know what to fog the vision of how shitty the quality really is. I had a buddy with an 1997 A4 that went 600 000Km's without issues. He treated it right and the radio still worked. Stop being so demanding and be happy that you are able to keep your family safe in such a wonderful vehicle. Get over the BS they are feeding you of the latest and greatest technology and be happy that it starts day in day out and it doesn't fail. Be grateful for once of what you have and appreciate it rather then the things you do not have.
You complain about your phone not pairing, you shouldn't be driving and talking on the phone anyway enjoy the car and the ride, enjoy your AUDI!

Just because I like my Audi and appreciate its good points doesn't mean it is perfect and manufacturers don't change unless people bitch. If you want a new antique, sell your Audi and go buy a Morgan.

Re: Heated steering wheel?
Actually in my post I said that the Q5 was "very focused on being comfortable and precise and leaving the driving to the driver"... which was why I bought it.
You can blast people for their opinions on this, but the Q5 isn't a heavy weight when it comes to technology. Of all the cars I test drove it was the least techy inside and lacked a lot of the features other cars had. It was however brilliant for handling and performance dynamics... I just happen to prefer it that way personally, but I acknowledge that in this class it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb.

Re: Heated steering wheel?
It is not my intention to slag Audi, they make fine vehicles and my reasons for buying a Q5 are still valid but that doesn't mean it doesn't lack certain things or couldn't be improved in others. People expect certain things to at least be available in cars that cost this much and when they see that they aren't, but are available on vehicles half the price their reaction is, what's with that? This is a very competitive market segment with some very good vehicles to chose from, so Audi needs to pay attention to the complainers and consider what they have to say.
rajvosa mentioned that a major redesign is due in 2015 and hopefully many of these things will be addressed. If so, I may be trading for a TDI in a few years because I hope I will want to buy another Audi in future, depending of course on what the opposition has to offer.
We all have different ideas on what features are important to us and I expect people to disagree with me on different things but I don't appreciate being told to sell my car, shut up and go away.

Re: Heated steering wheel?
The reason Audi doesn't care about heated steering wheels and Bluetooth and all that stuff is because they are GERMAN!
"You vill drive in zee vinter time vizout zee heated steering veel and you vill liek it!"
The German culture is very different from North American culture. They don't drink coffee, text or make phone calls when driving. They DRIVE! As such the manufacturers are slower in reacting to North American market trends. Even the cup holders for the 02 models were an afterthought. In Germany, they'd just give you driving gloves as your "heated steering veel"

Re: Heated steering wheel?
I think all we're trying to say here is that Audi *should* offer this relatively cheap feature on their entry level cars. Hell my 40k Santa Fe has a heated steering wheel and it is awesome, granted not as awesome as Q5 in the performance or handling dept but excellent bang food your buck hands down. I'm also dissapointed that cars like the S4 and S5 don't offer this feature. REALLY AUDI?
And for the record, BMW does exactly the same thing. Their entry level cars don't offer this regardless of the fact that they cost upwards of 40k. In Canada, this relatively cheap and simple feature goes such a long way when starting up your car on a cold morning.
