Heated steering wheel?
Anyone here ever investigated/retrofitted a heated steering wheel? Here in Canada it can get pretty cold. My mom's cayenne has heated wheel and it's amazing!
The Q7 has a heated steering wheel so I find it weird even in 2014 it is not even AVAILABLE...
Any clue how much this would cost? Does the wiring/system already exist or would it be quite a difficult thing to get a heated wheel for the Q5?

Hi Kaitlyn, Yes I've investigated this a couple years ago when I picked up my Q5 and I have no idea why they don't offer this option for our vehicles. Some Audi models offer it but not this one, it is the only feature I'm missing in my vehicle. I'm surprised nobody has replied yet with....gloves? 
Also you cannot retrofit your existing steering wheel so you're out of luck.

The answer is simple: Nowhere in the world, any market there is no optional heated steering wheel for the Q5, A4, A5 - cars on the same platform
Not one package has no option heated steering wheel
No option of heating the wheel and will not be until the arrival of the new model 2015

I'm surprised at what isn't available on this vehicle. Heated steering wheel, ventilated seats and remote start to name a few. Limited Bluetooth compatibility as well. My HTC Android pairs with another vehicle I have and a Magellan nav system no problem but not with my Q5. Too bad says Audi. I planned on buying a new vehicle but not a new phone at the same time.

Ventilated seats exist as an option, depending on the market.
I have a Galaxy S, Galaxy S4 and iPhone4 and no problem connecting with bluetooth.

The dealer spent over an hour trying to pair my phone and after two calls to Audi Canada, the verdict was, it is not on their list so I am out of luck. I would suggest that anyone considering a purchase, check Audi's list of tested phones. Just because some of a manufacturer's products will work, you can't assume they all will.
My two year old pickup truck pairs with my phone, has factory remote start, heated steering wheel, ventilated seats and a built in 115V AC inverter, none of which are available on the Q5.
I really like the Q5 and am not sorry we got it. It is a great package for us and when it comes to the main reasons we bought it, the drive, interior, fit and finish etc, it doesn't disappoint but I am surprised at what isn't available compared to many lesser makes. I think Audi has some work to do in this respect.

What safety reasons? It is an available option on many other vehicles and the manufacturer can design in as many safety features and interlocks as they like.

I would suggest that anyone considering a purchase, check Audi's list of tested phones. Just because some of a manufacturer's products will work, you can't assume they all will.

Ventilated seats are not available due to the importer, is not an error of Audi.
Audi is not an error that can not be paired with your phone, the phone it costs 100-500 U.S. dollars, and maybe he has a software problem. No one can make software for a car that is compatible with all phones.
My friend has a problem with the Galaxy S4 in his BMW 5

I can't help but fall into a similar boat. I'm SO excited for my Q5, but it is a lot pricier than I have ever paid for a car... and sure, the materials + finishes are nicer, the exterior looks fantastic, etc. etc.. but I still feel like some "basic"

-Exist ventilated seats, ask importers why they are not offered
-TPMS this is mandatory in some markets and in some additional equipment
