Default Hard shifting when engine cold? Normal?

Just a couple of weeks with my Q5 / 3.2 and overall very positive! Superb fir & finish!

1. I find that upshifting (especially when engine cold) seems a little rough i.e. goes to about 3000rpm sometimes before shifting gears? Overall, the transmission is very smooth but I wonder if this an Audi thing or some adjustment required?
2. I notice when coming down a steep hill at lower speed, the transmission gears down almost as if I have switched to tiptronic? Normal or just a case of being "over engineered"??

Thanks!
