Default Cold air in Cabin.

Hello all.

I took delivery of my Q7 S Line Prestige a few days ago from the dealership in Dieppe, NB. Very impressive vehicle indeed and it was worth the wait especially since I ordered it with the air suspension.

Unfortunately, there is a caveat. Everything is in perfect working order but, it seems that there is cold air around the floor of the vehicle and this, with the heat going full blast, even with the extra heater on Auto. It's pretty disconcerting. When I inspected if there was a problem with the vent under the driver's seat, there doesn't seem to be any hot air coming out from there as opposed to the passenger's side, where the heat seems to be coming out nicely. This creates a very cold car, not only as far as my feet and legs being cold, but the MMI, gear shifter and anything below that is super cold to the touch and this, even after 20-25 minutes of driving.

Anybody heard tell of this before?

Thanks

I've just picked up a new Q5 S-line and am noticing the same thing. My feet freeze to the extent that I thought there was no vent on the drivers floor area. To my amazement when I put my hand down there expecting no air flow there was actually quite a bit. I've never had this problem before and have had a wide range of veheicles. It has left me quite puzzled considering the airflow down there.

Just saw your post.

Here is what I did: Put in on recirculate for about 25 minutes, with the air blowing in the bottom vents. Still no hot air. Took a drive for 10 minutes in M5, to rev up the motor and lo and behold, some hot air started coming out. After that, everything was back to normal.

What I believe produced this was the fact that I rinced the bottom of the car with a pressure washer and somehow, some vent either froze or got stuck. It's been running great now.

Hope this helps you out.

I've been through a couple of washes with under spray... This could be the problem. Seems strange to design vents underneath the car though. Thanks for relating your experiences.

It's been an unusually cold winter. 7 degrees below average here in the Maritimes. Same in Ontario, from what I here. Could this account for this problem?
