Audi Drive Select

That's exactly where I am. Flipping back and forth between the Q5 and the GLK. I prefer the Q5, but my wife finds that the GLK has a smoother ride. BTW; she prefers the looks and features of the Audi. She likes the 'techy' stuff on the dash, centre stack, and console.
I'll post a follow-up note once we take another test drive.

I can see the Dartmouth Esso refinery from my office window. It is right across the harbour from me.

Re: Audi Drive Select
That's quite a situation you're in my friend. I feel you completely. My wife and I picked up the Q5 3 months before our marriage last Sep, I guess I should count my blessing that she left the decision making up to me .
Another thing to look at perhaps is to go to a GLK forum and have a look at seem what current owners have to say.

Re: Audi Drive Select
Getting back to the choppy ride comment in my original post; as a test I went and measured the tire pressure of the Q5 at my local Audi store. 38 pounds per sq. in.
Then I went out and increased the pressure in the tires of my smooth riding Passat wagon from 32 to 38 PSI. Took my wife for a drive. She immediately noticed the same pitching and harsh lateral motion that caused her some discomfort when we test drove the Q5.
Next step is to schedule another TD in a Q5; this time I'll insist that the pressure in the tires be reduced to a reasonable 32 PSI....just like my Passat.
Perhaps others could comment on the tire pressure settings in their Q5s? Is there any reason why 32 PSI should not be used?

Thanks to afrets for suggesting that the tire pressure may be the problem. I'll give it another try. Perhaps the Q5 can be put back on my short list.

Re: Audi Drive Select
Initially, the GLK caught my attention, but in the end, the Q5 (with its tons of extras as mentioned by warcity) won me over. Plus, the fact that Audi is havnig a hard time coping up with our demand should tell you something! Last but not least, when I test drove (several times) the Q5 before making my decision, I made sure that I go over the road bumps 9several times) to feel how smooth it was...and it was heavenly!
PS Read the GLK review, it leaves the rear part of your pants (when you get out of the car) in a messy state during winter because of how it is designed...small detail but annoying.

Re: Audi Drive Select
sbiggs; thanks for the info. I had guessed at 32 or 33, so I wasn't too far off.
So; getting back to my concerns about the ride of the Q5.
After calling ahead to make arrangements for another TD, and making special mention of my request that the tire pressure be reduced to 32 PSI, my wife and I took a Q5 out for another try.
No change; the ride was still choppy and harsh....unhappy face goes here.
After returning the key to the sales rep, and just as we were about to drive away, I decided to be a nerd and measure the tire pressure myself.....37 PSI!! (another unhappy face goes here)
So I went back into the showroom, got the sales rep, and with him standing beside me, reduced the tire pressure to 33 PSI myself. My wife and I hopped back into the Q5 and off we drove again.
The difference in ride was immediately noticeable and quite pronounced. All of the issues that we had with the ride were gone....completely gone. The ride was great. Just as has been stated by many others on this forum.
So now the Q5 is back on my short list...as is the 2.0T A4 Avant, a beautiful little wagon that handles and performs like a dream.
I wonder if I should write to Audi and ask for the sales commission should I choose to buy a Q5?
