Aftermarket GPS Custom Mount *Pics*
While I was having my remote starter installed in my new Q5 I asked my install guy if he could build a mount for my GPS, that way I don't have to use the window suction cup thing all the time.
He was able to build me this mount that looks really slick, keeps the nav out of the way and is easily removable so that I can take everything out without leaving any permanent holes or anything.
GPS unit removed:
This is the bracket made out of thin aluminum and slipped under the speaker grill. You can also see the power cord that is wired in to accessory power below the dash.
This is the mount piece that connects to the window suction cup part. It can easily be removed from the aluminum bracket if I ever need to use the GPS in another vehicle.
