Default 3.0TFSI Tune

For anyone thinking their Q doesn't make enough power, a local shop has a tune for the 3.0TFSI.

http://www.ecuprogram.com/ecu-tuning...fsi-v6-sc.html

The shop did all my performance upgrades for my old 335xi, great guys to work with. I ran their tune and it made the car into an absolute monster.

They are also coding ninjas.

Man, 415 bhp and 370 lb-ft/torque is soooo tempting. I see that means you would have to use at least a 93-octane fuel, but big deal. I would LOVE to see that much more performance in this SQ5. I'm going to seriously consider this performance upgrade.

Brad, are you planning to have your car tuned?

I'm with you, I find it super tempting. I had no issues with the tune in my BMW and warranty work but I do worry about it with Audi.

I am going to drop by there when I get a chance to find out about it.

The other thing is the vehicle is so tall and has so much roll I'm thinking of addressing the suspension before adding power..... But then again, it is really fun to go fast in a straight line

Google TD1 on Audizine, there are 1000's of threads about warranty work and tuning. Any warranty work that Audi thinks may have been caused by the tune will be denied.

I don't understand why you would go with that tuning brand when there already exists proven fast/safe tunes for the same price. I would much rather trust a company such as APR or GIAC over a small garage shop with out 1/4 mile results..

They don't even have a dyno sheet, just claimed numbers...

I've read a few. It's not as easy as you say. They can't deny warranty work on suspicion, but I would imagine that doesn't stop a company like Audi. I'm most worried about this and it will probably stop me from tuning the vehicle with any vendor, even Stasis.

I've had nothing but good experiences with them.... I also know them fairly well and recommend them based on their integrity, knowledge and their love of these vehicles.

I have absolutely no experience with GIAC or APR but I am aware of their reputations as tuners, which I believe is reasonably good.

For me, there was a ton of positive of having a tuner in my city that probably cared about my car more than I did. The service was better than you could get over the internet. They made house calls in the evening before warranty work, they're always available for when I need vehicle advice or when I just want to poke around the shop looking for parts. Plus, if the tune requires the ECU to be removed, I would want it to stay in the city instead of shipping it.

They even hold free coding weekends just to meet people and see their cars.

I would imagine a dyno is coming as soon as they get an 3.0 SQ (or a 3.0 Q) on it... I don't think anyone has brought one in yet. I am going to go in to end the speculation.

At the very least, they are good guys to get to know.

Made it down there this weekend but they were closed on Sat. Will try again this week if I am nearby.

Did get a chance to put this one together though:

That video was great. It reminded me of two things: The SQ5 is awesome, and Calgary is one grey and brown place during winter! Thanks for putting it together. I loved the song. Never heard that Bowie tune prior.
