Tomashek, I also have to 2.0T 8 speed ZF and I have no issues with the performance.
Actually, I think my ECU must of been programmed for the European market. Reason I'm assuming this is that the performance on my Q is far better than a demo I recently went to test drive at a local dealer.

Anyone else in the same boat as me? I'm not going to complain, actually I love it
I could bring it in at the dealer where I bought it, but my concern is that if it was in fact programmed for the Euro market, they will modify it.

Are Euro Q5's programmed the same as Canadian/US models? Anyone know? I'm assuming there must be a difference..

Let me repeat... There are no recalls for either transmission on the Q5.

My 2010 Q5 broke down on the highway due to cooling level malfunction!

Thanks Afrated, I have checked with my dealer and they don't know anything about it too. So it must be a nasty rumor.... Let's let it RIP!

Your only other option may be to call Audi Canada and see what they can do for you, if anything.

Good luck!

I just took my 2011 Q5 2.0T (delivered in Sept 2010) for the initial 8,000KM maint. and complained that I had experienced erratic shifting occasionally. They upgraded my transmission software to the latest version and it works perfectly now.

I'll keep that one in mind for sure. I too sometimes get jerky shifting, but I thought that it's braking in.....

I feel the same thing, because I really like to be smooth on my brakes when coming to a complete stop... When its almost completely stopped, I'm feathering the brakes a bit, and then *shift* car jerks a tiny bit. Yes, it is 5% annoying...Your trying your best to be smooth, and then the car has to ruin it everytime you hit a red.

but I'm getting use to it.. I wish I can just tell the tranny to shift to first when I'm 100% completely stopped without using tiptronic or whatever.... Its not bothering me that much that I'm going to bring it to the dealer though...not yet.

I found ways to avoid it.. Just hammer the brake to a stop from 3kmh-0kmh
But then all your passengers will think you suck at braking because everyone will be sick.

Hmmm just read yours is a 3.2... mine is a 2.0T 8 spd... Any other 2.0T owners feel the same thing?

I took the car in after waiting 2 weeks for an appointment (at this point it had approx 1000km on it). They performed a TCM update and also determined that one of clutches had not 'adapted' so that had to be done manually. After a manual adaptation, the car was running worse and they couldn't reverse the patch so the next step from tech-line was to change the Mechatronic unit which is supposedly responsible for the adaptation of the clutches.

This is very disconcerting on a brand new vehicle, furthermore i am told the part will take 1 week to arrive from germany meaning my 1 month old car will be in service for 2 weeks (if i'm lucky).

I would appreciate it if anyone has had a similar experience or can shed some light on the situation as to what my rights are. The head mechanic could not even guarantee that the new Mechatronic would solve all the transmission issues. I will not accept a new transmission to be put into a brand new car.

Any thoughts, ideas will be greatly appreciated. I bought this vehicle (not a lease) and intend on keeping it a while but this experience is not confidence inspiring.

much appreciated
