Re: Winter's Coming!! Any recommendations on Tires?
I picked up some wanli's for the front. I drive hard so in honesty im pretty disappointed with the dry grip. And they are frigging loud, i drove trucks quitter than that. snow...yet to come, but i got them pretty cheap, 105 with install at cheap thrills in milton. I dont recommend them for any performance driving...period.

...got the 255/40/18 pirelli sottozero serie2 on VMR 708s.., they take a real good bite on the snow, haven't had a chance to get them on ice... dry performance is fantastic, barely audible hum around 120 but solid as rock, feels just as good as stock 19 summer stocks that I had on for 3 days before this winter set went on..

...a bit late but an update...
took the winters off around end of march...
After having spent a few months on them, the stock dunlops feel questionable at best after the winter set... I had a chance to drive the winter pirellis on a few sunny dry +15 (at least) days and they were (lets say) a 90 where the stock dunlops are 75 at best... Dunlops cornering is always a chore never knowing when the tires start to let go.. I'm still glad there's no squeal...whew.. dont get me wrong the tires are fine but it seems like the grip is all car...
a friend of mine had an SRT4 with a few mods and BFG KDW tires on it... the scariest ride I've ever had in a car in a pass seat... redefined "rails corners" for me... the only thing that beat that was a ride in a 750hp 427ci c5 vette with Toyo R888 on it...same owner ;]
...bottom line - can't wait to wear down the stocks on the 19s and get some KDWs all around....or maybe I won't wait that long ;]
