Hey guys i was wondering if you knew the hourly rate for the shops

Cedarbrae VW does Revo Chips. Cedarbrae Volkswagen 1990 Ltd, Toronto ON, Toronto VW dealer, Golf, Jetta, Rabbit, Passat, Touareg, GTI, Phaeton, VW
h2Sport does APR Chips: H2Sport - Welcome to H2Sport | VW/Audi Autopart Tuning Shop
Pfaff Tuning does GIAC Chips: Pfaff Tuning - The Evolution of Inspired Driving

I need to get 2 new turbo's installed. i'm exploring the options of putting in t04 rs4 turbo's because it seems poitless to pull the motor to replace with stock. besides they are the same price.
Labor is going to be from 20-25 so i might as well see what other shops are offering

What are some of the other mods you have? As far as I know by putting in the RS4 turbos coressponding mods are needed. So the cost of all the other things will add onto the turbos. by paying 20 hours of labour at a minimum of a $100 per hour is $2000 I would look into getting a hoist and an engine holder or whatever you call it and spend about $1500 and do it myself Just my opinion and then after you are done you still have the tools

which you can easily re-sell at even half the cost it be a smoking deal so overall the thing would cost you $750 and the big smile on your face and a lot of respect because you know you did it on your own. I would be so proud and happy to do it myself. But if you are as useless as "Carrot Top" then go with the shop!

I would consider things like new 034 Motorsport or RS4 engine and trans mounts, DPs or piggie pipes, can do a cat back anytime, fix any oil leaks that may be present, etc

Depending on mileage and if your chipped, clutch and full TB Kit, replace trans fluid and anything else you can think of while drivetrain is out.

For a great shop try Independent Tuning. Bryan and Mark are great! They're in Markham/Scarborough I think.

i have no problem taking on this myself, just to save me the money. But the problem is I got nowhere to do it! that's the main concern, otherwise i would have that puppy sitting in my garage take the insurance off it till i have it all fixed up.
The valve covers are leaking a bit, i need to fix those, replace a dv, getting 2 better ones, intake as well, need to fix a rumbling that's comming from the back somewhere, not sure what it is, hoping it's a bearing. i'd also like to put a ttimer and a boost controller, just to stretch the life of the turbo's. Maybe even an Apr vent boost gauge
but right now it looks like i'm going to be spending some time with my mechanic getting in his way to put the easy stuff on while the motors out.

none yet, i'm in the process of ordering parts and deciding which route to go.
As far as changing the turbo's, would it be better to get a fmic or to change the stock ones to rs4? i dont mind the look of the intercooler at the front, but what's BETTER?
my poor baby is sitting in the driveway my budget as of the moment is 4000, so that's bearly going to cover anything. i need money! I'm accepting parts donations! lol work starts up again in 2 weeks so it looks like she's going to be sitting for a while longer i'm stuck driving a 1988 chevy 1500 with a broken exhaust. If you hear it before you can see it it's me!

Suggest call Clay at Kinetic Motorsports in BC for a deal on K04's with inlet piping and hardware install kit.

It's really hard to make an FMIC look good on the S4, most look like the front end of the car is hacked up, hard to get top core airflow exposure and your additionally heating air destined for AC / radiator / engine bay... also the front bumper structural insert has to be cut up. Unless your in for a ton of fabrication and the "FMIC look", stick with a good pair of SMICs. Stock are fine for now if your on a budget, IC's can be replaced any time seperate from an engine pull.

RS4 IC's don't fit nicely on the S4 as the mounts are quite different. IPP is another one to look at. AWE ICs are a little more expensive, are bigger and offer more airflow, although I had to make custom brackets to properly secure them from potential road vibration damage.

I was wondering as far as the turbos go, if i did go ko4, if i didnt chip, will they still work? i'm scared to put in used ones, and have them **** up on me again. So far i havnt really ordered anything.

here's what i'm thinking Get the Ko4's in, with engine and tranny mounts. Heat wrap my exhaust manifold, and get a boost controller because of the bigger turbos, and a timer so they get a cool down period. chip it in a bit when i have more cash.
