Just got the goodies!

Re: Just got the goodies!
That's why I had my stock mani's ceramic coated locally at National Coatings for $300, same coating that VAST uses and same day turn around too. VAST was out of stock and needed 3 weeks to ship and I couldn't wait that long.
While your waiting, you could plug all holes and smooth out insides of the Turbo's aluminum intake castings... you don't need "port and polish" quality but any smoothing work is better than the very rough castings as shipped. Use caution and don't get any dirt in there.

There are probly several ways to tackle it and patience is key. I plugged all holes with cloth, took off any lumpy high spots with a dremel, then used a few grades of wet sand paper working my way up to 400 wet. Wipe everything down afterwards and be sure not to leave any cloth or debris behind.

Looking good!
You should VAG log your IAT's. Your using stock Intercoolers with upgraded Turbo's so it will be much easier to heat soak the IC's. On top of that, your Open Air Filter is going to be sucking in a ton of hot engine bay air. If you still have the stock airbox, you may want to do the Darintake mod and reinstall it to help bring down IAT's.
Now get that thing back on the road

Re: Just got the goodies!
I got the ceramic manifolds installed to help with the heat, i'm going to make a fiberglass air box around my intake and connect it up to the scoop so there's more of a barrier for the cooler air and insulate it a bit. I just got it back and BOY AM I IN LOVE AGAIN!
Im going to connect it to my laptop tomorrow and take some readings on my drive to work, see how hot everything gets.
I came home today to find my new breaks have arrived!
now i need rotors, anyone know where to get drilled ones that arent too expensive?
