Desprate help
I bought a 2001 audi a6 2.7t 2 months ago and it didnt push like a biturbo so i went to a garage where they told me that the biturbos were dead... so i paid 3600$ for new ones partially used... the mechanic told me they were used for 900 miles.... Ne ways , so he also chipped the car and its was amazing everything was perfect but 2 weeks ago suddendly my turbos were making a strange soud really loud like if they were whistling....And it was really hard to get to 100kmh.... so instead of pushing them i went straight back to the garage and since then the car as been there... at first he thought the catalysts were broken or i dont know what and it appeared that its wasnt the problem... he said that the turbos instead of pushing they are sucking alot of air.... and he just cant get his hand on the probleme.... please help me
P.S: Anybody knows an Audi mechanic in Montreal ?!?!?

Re: Desprate help
did the mechanic change the diverter valves when he chiped you car... stock DVs usually go bad after a chip in about a months time... do you have a boost guage installed? if so was it showing any boost when u lost all power. You might also have a big boost leak somwhere.

Re: Desprate help
I just called him and he said that he did change the diverter valves (wich i doubt) and he might have found the problem... he thinks that its an computer problem ... the timing isnt good and the combustion is made in the turbos... so thats maybe what destroyed the first turbos ....
Its the last time i give my car to that mechanic.. he used to be very good and know just dont work hard and ****s everything.... but what can i do hes the one who installed the turbos and will try to repair the car for a really cheap price since ive already paid 4000$ 3 weeks ago....
i wanted to go to the dealer chip but it would have cost me 8000$ .... wich i dont have since im a full time student...

Re: Desprate help
A VAG scan and a Pressure Test of the intake system are always recommended as part of troubleshooting 2.7T boost issues.
If your forward cats melted from overtemp and clogged the exhaust system, you would have smelled "rotten eggs" a few times while driving. This is usually accompanied by a Flashing CEL.

Re: Desprate help
A decent tuner / shop in the montreal area is VAG. Details are as follows:
V A G Motor Sport (450) 661-0429
1368 Montée Masson Bureau 9, Laval H7E 4P2, Quebec
V.A.G. Motorsport
You should really have someone that knows the 2.7T have a look at your car. They have their quirks and IMHO, most corner mechanics shouldn`t be allowed near them. There are exceptions of course. Good luck.
