Good question - before I did mine I looked into it. There are a lot of variables and no one company seemed to have any kind of independantly tested stats - just claims that you have to take with a grain of salt.
I went with APR because of their size and popularity and mostly because of local trustworthy representation and trouble shooting available - RPI Equiped in Richmond. APR offers multiple programs allowing you to select the appropriate program for the available fuel and type of driving you are going to do. They were also able to take care of the injectors and diverter valve so it made sense to me to work with a package. A long road trip allows you to slip it into economy mode - some 91 or 94 octane at the pump and you can select the right program to get the boost you're looking for.
Do your homework and let us know what you find out. Anyone else have any comments on this subject?

I don't know about buying used injectors - the newer the better since they start to gum up the more they're used. A new diverter valve is about $200 and there's lots of options out there. It's a sweet deal that for about $1200 you can get up to 75 hp in gains (at least that's what APR publishes on their web page) - round it out with a high flow airfilter like a K&N or better and it'll feel like a whole new car!
Watch for your coil packs to start failing though if they haven't already - pretty common and Audi has replaced the OEM one with a more robust version. Once you begin to demand higher output from your engine's electrical system that's often the straw that breakes the camel's back and they fry. You'll feel an immediate effect on power and the engine will run rough. Don't panic - head to the dealer parts department. They're a snap to replace yourself and they're only worth about $40 each ($160 for the lot). If one goes you may as well replace them all. Check some of the other forums on tuning for advice on how.
Total price tag around $1300-$1500. But then you'll want better brakes once she goes faster!
